By car: Take the exit nr. 30 on the A28 (the highway from Utrecht to Groningen). Coming from the direction Assen, take the roundabout at the end of the exit for three-quarters in the direction of Smilde. You drive along the Beilervaart. Take the 3rd bridge on your right hand side and go directly left in the direction of Hijken. You now drive on the other side of the canal. The 3rd farm on the left is Campground Vorrelveen. Coming from the direction Hoogeveen, go left at the end of the exit and straight on at the roundabout. Than follow along the Beilervaart as described above. Coming from Hoogersmilde, go in the middle of the village via the bridge over the Drentse Hoofdvaart. Followed by a right turn and a left turn. Now you are on the Beilervaart in the direction of Beilen. Take the 2nd bridge on your left hand side, followed by a direct left again. The 3rd farm on the left is Campground Vorrelveen. By cycle: From Beilen centre: follow the signs to the A28 and continue along the Beilervaart as described above. From Hijken: in the middle of the village there is a cattle feed factory. From this point you leave the village in the direction of Dwingeloo and Eemster. You are cycling on the Vorrelveense Weg. After the viaduct this changes into Vorrelveen. After approximately 1 kilometre you are at nr 10 (on your right hand site); Campground Vorrelveen. From Hoogersmilde: same route as by car. I you are cycling the Beilerdingspelroute, than go at ANWB-cycling sign (the white-and-red mushrooms) in the direction of Eemster/Dwingeloo. You will pass the campground. |
